Job Requirements

We are looking for an AI engineer who has deep experience building LLM products. As an early hire, you will work closely with the founders (Hi from James and Amit! ๐Ÿ‘‹) to build the future of AI narrative tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and ship models that make a big impact on our writers.
  • Iterate and improve models, with a sharp focus on business strategy.
  • Contribute to the core product and direction of the company.

๐Ÿ’กย Example project Say weโ€™re building a backend to analyze large documents (> 50,000 words) to break down the contents into relevant story metadata. Youโ€™d work to build this from the ground up so that the metadata extraction is accurate, to implementing a scalable service in production.

About You

  • You have deep experience working with LLMs and geek out over the latest open source models. Bonus points if you understand how to apply LLMs toward narrative generation and understanding.
  • You have fine-tuned your own models, but are also an expert prompt engineer with experience building and improving prompt-based apps.
  • You are comfortable building, deploying, scaling, and testing machine learning pipelines in production.
  • You have experience with NLP and ML frameworks (spaCy, nltk, scikit-learn, Pinecone DB).
  • You have familiar with JavaScript / Node backends.
  • You have an innate desire to understand writers and their needs.
  • You are pragmatic about technology and know engineering tradeoffs.
  • You are self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
  • You can work within HST and EST timezones.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience. 5+ years experience or more preferred.

Bonus Points

  • You love writing and are immersed in a writing community.
  • You have familiarity building an app focused on text-editing.
